Advocating For Oversight As ONE CITY
As a founding member of the Marshall Plan Stakeholder Committee, which was declared defunct by the City Manager's office without notice, I have kept a watchful eye on the activities of the Measure A Citizen's Oversight Committee as it relates to its charter. Since the measure was approved, I have met with the City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Measure A Committee members and OVP staff to listen to their perspectives and points of view. I have also observed how the City Maanager's office has responded to the concerns of the committee members, City Council members, concerned citizens and even a San Joaquin County Grand Jury Investigation. In light of this year's annual report with recommendations that is being submitted at tonight's meeting, and the five-year committee review to the City Council in the coming year, both required by the Measure A charter, there is a singular opportunity for engaged citizens to take a detailed look at how the city has stewarded their resources. According to my observations and research, charter ordinance items "2.22(b)", "2.2.3(b)", "2.2.4(a)", "5.1", "5.2", "5.5", the third paragraph of "MISSION AND PURPOSE", numbers "7", "8) a)" of "APPLICABLE RULES", the fourth paragraph of "9)", "Section 19" and "Section 20" are worthy of investigation by concerned and engaged citizens...
